1st Verse
Alone tonight
In this attic room
Lit by candle light
Your breath is cold
Your face a mask
But soon the time is right
1st Bridge
Your eyes are open
You’re welcoming the night
Seals are broken no words are spoken
1st Chorus
Dark
So Dark
When The Book of Shadows breaks apart
And opens up the gateway to your heart
Slow
So slow
The time will pass
But rest assured
You’re here at last
But where you’ll go
No-one will ever know
No-one can know
2nd Verse
Steady hands
Don’t hesitate
Paint the mirrors black
Burn the candles one by one
There’s no turning back
2nd Bridge
With eyes wide open
You stare into the night
Seals now broken the words were spoken
2nd Chorus
Dark
So Dark
When The Book of Shadows breaks apart
And opens up the gateway to your heart
Slow
So slow
The time will pass
But rest assured
You’re here at last
But where you’ll go
No one will ever know
No one can know
C-Part
It’s all here…
(In the Book of Shadows)
It’s so clear….
(In the Book of Shadows)
Last Chorus
Dark
So Dark
When a thousand spells attack your heart
They’ve come unleashed unsettled from the past
Slow
So slow
The time will pass
But rest assured
You’re here at last
But where you’ll go
No-one will ever know
No-one can know
Outro
Twinkle, twinkle, little star
Show me just how bright you are
Shine your light, you little star
Ban the darkness from afar
END SONG
Chapter 15 (Epilogue)
With that, I opened my eyes, which seemed to take an eternity.
Slowly I got up from my chair. I needed fresh air.
‘Go to Underground City, dear boy. There you will find the heart of the dark energies.
All human disgust is at work there. It’s The Watchers playground. It’s where they keep their enslaved human subjects happy and content.’
It’s in the heart of our abandoned city. You can’t miss the signs.
Be careful, whatever you do and remember not to touch anything.’
Mrs Sullivan opened her door and I left.
I stepped out into the night. A light rain had started to sprinkle.
‘Underground City here I come…’ I thought lighting up a cigarette.
I exhaled and started walking…
Following the plastic sign that read UC, I walked down the deserted street and came upon what looked like a tunnel entrance.
I could hear the loud music and crowd noise in the distance as I entered the tunnel.
There was a line of people in front of me.
