Martin:
Global Warming crossing the 1.5 degree line could be an extinction level event.
It’s about the point where we’ll likely see manly natural systems begin to cross dangerous points of no return, triggering lasting changes and transforming life as we know it.
Julia:
The World’s leading climate scientists have warned there are only a dozen years for Global warming to be kept to a maximum of 1.5 degrees celsius.
Beyond which, even half a degree will significantly worsen the risks of drought, floods, extreme heat and poverty for hundreds of millions of people.
1. Verse
Our world keeps changing everyday
Photographs and messages of what we do and say
This world we’re living in today
Recorded for eternity long after we fade away
Bridge
Standing on the ground looking up to sky
Have you ever wondered - have you ever asked why?
If there’s Someone out there…
Somewhere out there…
Just what is left to say
Chorus
Is there another place…
Is there a chance for us?
We are the Human Race
Forgotten how to trust
And when we leave this place
To build another world
Where there’s a chance for us
Before we turn to dust
Julia:
At 2 degrees, we start getting into scenarios that make most dystopian horror movies look like children’s coloring books.
2. Verse
The sun is burning down today
The Icy caps of glaciers are melting away
For many miracles we pray
Alone here in the darkness- these are our final days…
Bridge
When we’re standing on the ground looking up to the stars
When we’re looking for life on IO or Mars
If there’s someone out there
Somewhere out there
And can we leave today?
Chorus
And find another place?
Where there's a chance for us?
We are the Human Race
Forgotten how to trust
And when we find this place
And build our perfect world
Where there’s a chance for us
Because we’re all nothing more than stardust…
Solo
Chorus end
And when we leave
our orbit into space
We’ll send a message, hear this message
From the human race!
Is there another place?
Is there a chance for us?
We are the Human Race
Forgotten how to trust
And when we find this place
And build our perfect world
Where there’s a chance for us
Because we’re all nothing more than stardust…
